A Wyoming native, Thomas graduated with a Masters degree from the School of Architecture at Montana State University - Bozeman in 2001. His interest in landscape and the built environment took him on an eleven year journey to work for several internationally recognized firms throughout the American West. During that time he enjoyed participating on a wide variety projects that included art museums, libraries, schools, hotels and spas as well as large and small custom residences. In 2013 Thomas Cheney Architects was established in the Puget Sound area of the Pacific Northwest.
